Rain drops on roses…

There are certain things that bring you back to your childhood, and flood you with memories of laughter through the years. For me, one of those things is a quaint little place in Metro-Detroit called the Franklin Cider Mill.

This endearing family friendly location has been around since 1837…. that’s right, I said 1837! It smells of pressed apples and warm donuts from the moment you step into the parking lot. With a huge water wheel room (sadly not shown as it was closed at the time) that makes the whole operation function like clockwork, deep brown painted wood siding, and handmade treats as far as the eye can see… this place is certainly hard to beat, and is ABSOLUTELY a must see if you are ever in Michigan during fall!

This trip was especially meaningful to me, because as I sat and watched my daughter chase after the ducks with laughter, running back to me to get a sip of cider and a bite of donut, so many memories of my own childhood came flooding back. Here’s to fabulous places that help families create even more fabulous memories!
