FAQ’s

 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & POLICIES

How long have you been in business and how many weddings have you shot?

  • I have been a full time Photographer since 2012. I’m lucky enough to Photograph between 25-30 couples saying “I do” each year, and am even more honored to capture so many of their families growing after!

Will you be our main Photographer?

  • Absolutely!

What if you can’t make it for some unexpected reason on our wedding day?

  • Because I have a second Photographer included in each Collection (while hopefully it never has to happen), your Second Photographer would shift to your be your Lead Photographer and I would then implement an alternative Second Photographer to take their role. All of my Second Photographers are very experienced, and have a similar style and quality to my own, often owning their own Photography business as well.

Do you carry back-up equipment incase of an equipment emergency?

  • ABSOLUTELY! We not only carry back-up camera bodies, but back-up lighting equipment to be safe. If you are familiar with Photography equipment feel free to check out WHAT’S IN MY BAG as well.

HOLDING OUR DATE: Contract, Reservation Retainer and Payment Schedule

  • Wedding dates are only held with a signed contract and Reservation Retainer. Contracts are signed electronically and your Reservation Retainer is 50% of your final pricing, with the remaining balance due 30 days prior to your wedding.

SCHEDULING: What days do you schedule sessions?

  • During Wedding Season (May-October) Sessions are scheduled Monday through Thursday, within either the two hours following sunrise, or two hours prior to sunset.

LOCATION: Where should we go for our session?

  • Because I’m a natural light, on-location Photographer I prefer to use the light produced naturally by the sun, which means usually sessions will take place in an outdoor setting. With that in mind, I encourage couples start by thinking of the style and setting you want your images to be taken in and let’s go from there to plan something true to you!

EXPECTATIONS: What should I expect during my session?

  • To have FUN, laugh and get to know your totally rad Photographer, while I capture your connection and relationship in a beautiful, guided manner.

WARDROBE: What should I wear for our portrait session?

  • Wear whatever you are most comfortable in. If you are going to be pulling at it, adjusting it or looking at every reflective surface you can find…. pick something else. If you don’t FEEL comfortable and confident in it, it will show in every image.
  • Colors. Think about where you will be. If you are going to be outside on a snowy day, pick something that will pop in a photo. Coordinating outfits for more than just yourself can be a little daunting, so keep it simple… stay in the same color family and “style” of clothing and you will be just fine.

EDITING TIMELINE: How long will it be until our images are ready?

  • Prior to your Wedding or during your Session we will schedule your Viewing Meeting, so you will have the exact date you will get to see your image gallery. Depending on the time of year this may be up to 8 weeks, as work load during peak wedding season is pretty high and we want to ensure that your images are not rushed so you get the same attention to detail no matter when your Wedding/Session took place. As I’m going through images and editing I may put a sneak peek up online for you to view, so keep an eye on our social media accounts as well!

TRAVEL:

What are your travel fees?

  • Travel fees may be applied at the rate of $0.60 per mile for any wedding or session which requires more than 80 miles of round trip travel for Jennifer Togal Photography. In the event of air travel being required, Client will be responsible for the actual cost of travel and associated costs.
  • If drive time is greater than 2 1/2 hours one way or requires air travel, Client will be responsible for overnight accommodations and any associated costs. Any session/event taking place between the months of November and April will require two nights of accommodations (one night prior and the night of the event) to account for any potential weather delays that may impact our attendance. Please see your contract for specifics.
  • NO ADDITIONAL TRAVEL FEES will be applied for wedding day coverage when one of our WEDDING COLLECTIONS are booked in the following metro areas: MINNEAPOLIS, DETROIT, and PHOENIX.

PORTRAIT SESSION CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULE REQUESTS:

  • Client cancellation/reschedule request for portrait sessions must be received in a written notice via email to hello@jtogalphotography.com within 72 hours (3 days) of your appointment. Cancellation or rescheduling notices provided with less than 72 hour notice will be charged a fee equal to the reservation retainer collected to hold your session date and time; wedding contract included sessions will be charged $50. So, please pick your date and time carefully!
  • “No shows” will forfeit their session with no refund or adjustment to products or services provided. If a Client has not arrived within the 20 min following sessions scheduled start time, they will be considered a no show.

WEATHER: “It says it’s supposed to be cloudy/hot/rain/snow on our session date; what should we plan on and can we reschedule if it is?”

  • Cancellation or rescheduling due to weather conditions, is up to the Photographers discretion. Weather doesn’t always work the way we want it to, but rain or shine you can still get beautiful photos! I’m never afraid to have fun with a session and the weather we are given… Throw on a pair of adorable galoshes, grab an umbrella and lets have a bit of fun “singing in the rain” or get cozy under a canopy of trees…. how romantic and adorable?! I’m full of ideas, so have no fear!

INDOOR OPTION: I know you are an on-location Photographer, but do you have an indoor studio space to escape the summer heat/winter weather?

  • Absolutely! I have a studio space near downtown that is a great indoor backup plan when needed.
