All prints are not created equal

(LEFT) This is a sliver from six different scanned consumer lab prints that were all ordered from the same digital file. Two of these labs were different locations of the same company, so as to show that even the same company for consumer printing doesn’t always provide consistent results. (RIGHT) This is the scanned print from my professional lab which was ordered from that same digital file.

Let’s talk printing for a second… as you can see from above, not all prints are created equal.

Now, I’m the first person to say I completely understand the peace of mind you get when you simply “have the images to print” incase something should ever happen to your beautifully printed products; but as a Photographer I also understand that while I love the convenience of consumer labs, as you can see from above their quality is often sub-par and inconsistent to say the least.

Couples typically spend spend months, countless hours, and thousands of dollars picking the perfect details and vendors for their big day. When it comes to finding the perfect Photographer to capture all those things for you…. You hopefully don’t just fall in love with their killer personality, but also their approach and editing style. Any one of the prints on the left are not what was intended with the final image and while what was captured is still gorgeous, it’s not the quality I would want my Clients displaying for decades.
